Development of a visual complex for protecting endangered butterflies

Abstract

The endangered species refers to species that are highly likely to face extinction in the near future due to reasons inherent to the species itself or impacted by human activities or natural disasters. This topic selects endangered butterflies as the research subject. The transformative process in the butterfly lifecycle, from egg to larva, pupa, and adult, is described as "tuidie," symbolizing the beauty of butterfly metamorphosis. Moreover, ancient people believed that the butterfly's transformation symbolized positive change, hence they also referred to butterflies as "tuidie". Butterflies play a vital role in nature and are an indispensable part of the ecosystem. Protecting endangered butterflies is of great significance for maintaining and preserving the natural environment. "Tuidie" focuses on the protection of endangered butterflies, conveying knowledge about them to the public through IP design, illustration design, poster design, and creative product design. By using creative product design, the protection of endangered butterflies becomes more vivid and interesting, spreading relevant knowledge about them. This not only provides a more intuitive understanding of the current situation and plight of endangered butterflies but also increases public awareness and consciousness of their protection. It calls for more people to pay attention to and participate in the actions to protect endangered butterflies, thereby playing an important role in maintaining and preserving the natural environment.
