Краткий осмотр (реферат): Business plan competitions are increasingly used in higher education as a
tool for fostering entrepreneurial competences and encouraging students to
engage in startup activities. This paper examines how participation in a student
business plan competition can contribute to the development of entrepreneurial
skills, using a case study of FINRA University Tuzla. The competition was
organised as an integral part of the courses Entrepreneurship and Business
Finance, in which first- and second-year students worked in teams to prepare
business plans and present them before a professional jury. Out of forty
submitted business plans, twelve were selected for the final presentations and
evaluated by university professors, representatives of the banking sector, local
government, business associations and successful entrepreneurs. The analysis
focuses on the design of the competition, the types of support provided to
students and the perceived benefits in terms of motivation, self-confidence,
creativity and practical application of theoretical knowledge. The findings
suggest that embedding business plan competitions into the curriculum, in
cooperation with real-sector partners, can significantly enhance students’
entrepreneurial learning experience. The paper concludes with
recommendations for further improvement of such initiatives and directions for
future research.

Название: Student engagement strategies in developing startup initiatives for the agricultural sector
Авторы: Vornicu, Laura
Краткий осмотр (реферат): This article examines the critical role of structured student engagement as
a catalyst for developing innovative startup initiatives within the agricultural
sector. It argues that addressing the profound challenges of 21st-century
agriculture, including food security, climate resilience, supply chain
sustainability, and rural economic vitality, requires a paradigm shift. This shift
moves beyond traditional agronomic education toward the active cultivation of
entrepreneurial thinking and venture creation within academic institutions. By
integrating students into the innovation lifecycle, universities can simultaneously
accelerate agricultural transformation and fulfill their educational mandate to
develop capable, solution-oriented graduates. The central thesis posits that
effective student engagement in agri-startup development is not a passive
extracurricular activity but a strategic, pedagogically grounded process. It
requires the deliberate design of ecosystems that connect academic knowledge
with real-world problems, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and provide the
experiential scaffolding necessary to translate ideas into viable, impactful
ventures. The urgency for this engagement is underscored by a confluence of
global pressures. The agricultural sector faces the imperative to produce more
food with fewer resources for a growing population, adapt to and mitigate
climate change, and navigate complex socio-economic transitions in rural
communities worldwide. Concurrently, technological disruptions, from precision
agriculture and genomics to blockchain and AI, are creating unprecedented
opportunities for innovation. However, the sector often suffers from an
innovation adoption gap and a perceived lack of attractiveness to young talent.
Engaging students in startup creation directly addresses these issues by
injecting fresh perspectives, digital-native skills, and entrepreneurial energy into
agriculture. It transforms students from passive job seekers into active job and
value creators, potentially reversing rural brain drain and fostering a new generation of “agri-preneurs” who view the field as a high-impact, technologydriven
career frontier.

Краткий осмотр (реферат): This study examines hackathons as effective educational formats for
fostering sustainability competencies in the fashion and textile sector. Through
an analysis of a three-day fashion hackathon in Athens, case studies based on
the mentoring of two early-stage circular startups, the research shows how
participants learn, collaborate and translate sustainability principles into
concrete, actionable concepts. A qualitative and inductive methodology was
applied, using structured observation, visual and process documentation,
reflective mentor notes and two case studies. These findings show that
hackathon-based education combined with structured mentoring can jointly
improve the capacity to advance sustainable fashion practices.
